Jason is one of those individuals who finds their career and life paths redirected through experiences both wondrous and excruciating. While he has a long, established history of working in everything from wildland firefighting and landscaping to environmental conservation and related STEM fields, adverse experiences from a lifetime in rural living and traditionally blue-collar vocations as a member of the LGBTQ2SIA+ community fostered in him a passion for helping others and bringing joy, support, and meaningful connection into a world that so often seems intent on erasing them from our lives. Since making the switch, he has begun (and nearly finished) pursuing his Master's in Social Work, run a housing assistance fund for the LGBTQ2SIA+ community, and is excited to share the beautiful experiences of connecting with nature as he incorporates it into his practice in the social services.

When not at work or in class, Jason enjoys the outdoors, particularly snorkeling and discovering new places off the beaten path, videogames, exploring Portland, and connecting with the wonderful people that call this city home.
